Before driving lessons can begin, you will need to hold a valid provisional driving licence issued for Great Britain or Northern Ireland from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA ). Application forms (D1) can be obtained from most Post Offices or complete your application online at www.direct.gov.uk. Alternatively we can supply this for you.

If you are looking to start driving on commencement of your 17th birthday, provisional licences can be applied for three months before - the licence will only be valid, however, until you turn 17.
